Description
Approximately, between 50% and 75% of the candidate's time testing should involve developing or updating automated scripts (typically, in VB) or testing utilities (typically, in C#, C++, or Java).
Opportunities exist for a mid to senior level engineer. The candidate often will be the lead SQA engineer on multiple projects, where the candidate will work independently and in cross-functional teams following established SDLC methodologies.
One of the candidate's key goals will be to continually look for ways to improve SW quality and the time required to release new SW versions.
The successful candidate will display a strong sense of ownership, motivation, and attention to detail.
Job Duties:
* Assist in or perform planning, management, and reporting of testing on multiple SW projects
* Write and execute SW tests. Carefully analyze and document test results.
* Work on both non-regulated and FDA and ISO regulated SW projects
* Assist software developers and system owners in designing and performing verification and validation tests
* Work with scientists and engineers to deliver commercial and internal SW systems
* Collaborate with peers to identify opportunities for process improvement
* Translate manual tests into automated tests
* Develop software tools to facilitate testing
* Facilitate integration of automated testing throughout the development process
* Work with other domain experts and testers to improve the scalability and predictability of the test effort
Qualifications:
* B.S. or higher in a science, math, or engineering related area
* Experience working in Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering
* At least 4 years automating tests or developing SW utilizing TestComplete, Rational Robot, C#, or equivalent
* Familiarity with activities throughout the entire SDLC
* Expert level familiarity testing, administrating, and using Windows-based GUIs
