Accounting Manager/Controller - – San Diego

Specific Duties

Processing of accounts payable, commercial tenant billings, and payroll functions.

Prepare timely monthly financial statements and reporting to help ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of such reporting.

Insure property maintenance of the General Ledger and complete monthly account analysis (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and oversight of monthly close).

Preparation of annual CAM reconciliations.

Responsible for compliance and preparation of internal and external monthly financial reporting packages.

Preparation of construction loans including coordination with lenders, draw requests and reporting.

Prepare annual property and corporate financial plans and updates.

Interface with property management firm and lenders.

Preparation of monthly actual vs. budget comparisons.

Preparation of year end audit workpapers.

Assist CFO in administration of insurance program.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience through the controller level for a real estate development/commercial property management firm.
Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, retail leases, CAM billings, job costing, income taxes and real estate law.
Good working knowledge of accounting systems. Understanding of general ledger structure and financial statement preparation, in a multi-entity real estate environment.
Experience in real estate financial analysis and modeling is desirable.
Proficiency in Excel, Yardi and QuickBooks Pro.
Must be organized and task oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and adapt readily to changing priorities.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience in urban development, commercial leasing and property management accounting is highly desirable.
